We are seeking a highly motivated Specially Appointed Research Fellow join The Yabu Lab at the Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR), Tohoku University (Sendai, Japan). Our research focuses on the synthesis and application of molecular catalysts for electrochemical energy conversion. We offer access to advanced equipment and facilities for synthesis, measurement, and characterization, ensuring a supportive environment for cutting-edge research. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with Dr. Tengyi Liu (Specially Appointed Assistant Professor) on measurements related to electrochemical CO2 reduction.

Research fields Electrochemical carbon dioxide (CO2) or carbon monoxide (CO) reduction by using Flow-cell electrolyzers or Membrane electrode assemblies (MEA)
Qualifications • Applicants must hold a Master or Bachelor degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field (candidates nearing graduation are also welcome to apply with proof of expected degree completion).
• Applicants should be able to efficiently communicate in English.
• Applicants should be able to collect data and write report in English.
• Applicants having ability to communicate in Japanese or Chinese are favorable.
Treatment • Employment status: Full-time (non-tenured)
• Work location: Tohoku district – Miyagi
• Salary: The No. 3 annual salary system is applied. The annual salary includes monthly salary, regional allowances, year-end, and diligent service allowance, and retirement allowance.
